A master in Haini-kum a martial art focused on assassination and evasion. He is a master of martial arts, skilled in survival techniques, sabotage, and subterfuge.
Growing up as the underdog, even inside his own family, he set out to find purpose inside the military. After two years with the forces of the Eastern Kingdom, he felt uninspired and left the military. Traveling between towns, he met up with and challenged various fighters, casters, and experts of the killing craft.
Sometimes he almost died in these challenges, but he always learned and improved his skill set. Slowly gaining coin, he enjoyed having proper meals, warm beds to sleep in, and having control of his own life.
The mercenary years
He met up with a mercenary group five years after leaving the military. A hardened crew that had seen and experienced loss darkened Drevas. He suffered injuries but gained great riches. He bought and found great artifacts and powerful weapons and gear.
Soon the captain of the mercenaries challenged him, fearing that he might usurp him soon. Drevas has found a tight-knit family here and feels betrayed by his captain, who has protected, fought with, and even at times saved his life.
In a bloody and chaotic fight, where every ounce of their mettle was tested, Drevas pushed the Captain too far, and he was forced to release the dark power inside him. The other mercenaries recognized the dark and foul demon. The overwhelmed captain possessed Drevas as he rallied to his side.
As a last act, the captain cursed Drevas with the demon inside. to burden him and carry that weight with him. Drevas was in a weakened state and could not resist the demon. The next morning, the mercenaries, some versed in protection magics, enchanted Drevas’ soul. He taught him how to keep the beast at bay, feed it without risking his own soul, and even gain power from it.
The one fighter, who has gained a great deal of love and respect for Drevas, promised him that the rest of them would search for a cure. Drevas greeted his compatriots and left for Markandor, knowing he couldn’t be with her or them until he learned how to keep the demon at bay.There, demonology is practiced, and he can learn more.
Rebuilding the dreams of the lost
After another three years in Markandor seeking assistance from cultists and warlocks, he discovered new ways to not only control the demon within himself, but also to rebuke them out of others.
He then began to gain followers by exorcising evil spirits from humans, beasts, and even cleaning a haunting. Through his new followers, he heard of poor and jobless people. rejected by society. He felt their pain, and he knew the path it takes to build your own.
- Powers / Abilities:
Form of darkness – Fades into the incorporeal form, using his dark pact ability. In this state he is not hindered by walls, ground and can’t be hit by normal attacks. He must take the souls of people he kill, to try and restore power to the dark pact. If he doesn’t recharge it, the dark force he was cursed with, scars his body to keep the balance. He can also use empowered crystals to re-imbue the ability. The crystals however are only replenished with souls.
The found – He forms his cohort by those who have been discarded by armies, communities or families. He helps them to overcome their shortcomings with mechanical and/or magical enhancements. They are also trained in the martial art of haini-kum. They build a strong sense of community and through this love and trust for each other, they give their all to build and protect their new family.
Soul tear – A person, beast of foul being, afflicted with the Soul tear will loose their souls and be added to the power set of Drevas. He can either release their soul, embue it in a crystal for use later or gain pure energy to use. The soul is then destroyed.
